As some of you know, I’ve been working on Phoenix Rising, the prequel to COLOSSUS. Originally the prequel was going to be separated into two novellas. However, just like the entire Heather Stokes project, the narrative grew out of hand.
I’ve decided to split Phoenix Rising into several narratives, 10-20k words each. The first will be FLINT RANCH, which has recently been revised and is waiting for my editor to have an opening. FLINT RANCH narrates the tragic and traumatic childhood of a boy named Thatch, isolated and fatherless, as he grows up on a horse ranch with his mother and her brother-in-law.
The first draft of Phoenix Rising: Colorado Springs I is also completed and about to go out to beta-readers.
Let me know if you’re interested in beta reading! I will need final-round betas for Flint Ranch and second-draft betas for Colorado Springs I. Trigger warnings include: sexual assault, child molestation (at least for Flint Ranch), graphic violence, and cruelty to animals (also isolated to Flint Ranch).
